The Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce held their annual Dollars for Scholars Program in March and, as promised, the winners were announced over Memorial Day weekend. The Elementary School prize went to eighth grader Cooper VanDorpe of Norwood Park Elementary School. He plans to attend Notre Dame College Prep. The High School winner is senior Tanja Rakovic from Taft High School who will be attending the University of Illinois in Chicago. Good luck to both of these winners!

Any family that has experienced the loss of a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death is invited to attend the blessing at Edward Hospital's Wings of Hope Angel Garden on Tuesday, 6/7, at 6:00pm. The Garden is located near the South Entrance of the Hospital at 801 S. Washington St., near the Emergency/Outpatient Entrance.  The annual blessing culminates with a ceremonial butterfly release and is presented in coordination with the national support network, SHARE. If you cannot attend but would like to make a donation, follow either link above to show your support.

The Boka Restaurant Group, who have a long list of successful eateries across Chicago including Boka, Girl & The Goat, and Momotaro, have partnered with Steppenwolf Theatre Company to bring a new cafe/bar to the theater's front lobby of the 1700 Theater at 1700 N. Halsted St. The cafe is called Front Bar: Coffee and Drinks and serves much more than just coffee and alcoholic beverages. If you're there to see a show, now you can enjoy a meal and drinks before and after without leaving the building. Front Bar will be open daily from 7:00am - 12:00am so it's a new destination for anyone, not just theatergoers.

Follow this link to RSVP and receive one free drink for Activate's June party next Thursday, 6/9, from 5:00pm - 10:00pm in Sullivan Center Alley. The entrance to the alley is on Monroe Street between State St. and Wabash Ave. This time the party will be a "Silent Disco" with the sense of Hearing as this month's theme. You're invited to dance to the music in your head or hear the featured musical entertainers by way of headset. I'm not sure how this works so you'll have to attend to find out for yourself. Musical guests are DJ IMGRNT and live performances by rock 'n' roll duo White Mystery, R&B artist KHALLEE, and multi-art spectacle NON:op.

We're giving you fair warning to purchase tickets ahead of time and benefit from the discount rather than pay full price on the day of the event! You have 2 weeks to purchase your tickets and plan a night of culinary adventure for this year's Cravings on Clark Restaurant Crawl on Thursday 6/16 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. The crawl features the wonderful patisseries, cafes, pubs and restaurants along Clark Street from Armitage Ave. to Diversey Pkwy., and the south side of Diversey Pkwy. between Orchard St. and Lakeview Ave. Admission is $30 in advance or $40 on the day of the event for your passport to participate in tastings and retail shop discounts along the way. Also pedicab rides will be free!
