The Lincoln Square/Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce has a great incentive to bring holiday shoppers to the neighborhood, called Unwrap Lincoln Square Ravenswood! Spend a total of $300 on retail products, gift certificates, and/or services within the commercial boundaries between Foster Ave. and Montrose Ave. from north to south, and Ashland Ave. and the Chicago River from east to west to receive a $50 rebate Lincoln Square Ravenswood community gift card. Save your receipts from a minimum of 3 different businesses where you've spent at least $25 to total $300 collectively. Then submit your receipts to the Chamber of Commerce office before Friday 1/8/16. The first 150 shoppers to do so will be rewarded. Follow the link above to learn all of the participation rules.

After School Matters (ASM) and Harris Theater for Music and Dance (205 E. Randolph St.) have announced a new arts education partnership. More than 300 tickets for Harris Theater's 2015 - 2016 season have been underwritten through their Access Tickets Program and provided to students participating in After School Matters. Not only will students have the opportunity to watch selected musical and dance performances for free, they will also get to attend dinners and conversations with the artists to learn more about performance and resources that may interest them. ASM chief executive officer, Mary Ellen Carson, says, "When young people see firsthand how professionals have achieved success, they build not only their skills but their confidence to know that they can and should dream big." There's a new Italian beef joint right on the edge of Portage Park and Jefferson Park opening next week. Beefbelly, created by Steve O'Brien, the owner of Portage Park's BRGRBelly, will bring a new take on the Italian beef sandwich. Eight new takes, to be exact. Beefbelly, at 4800 N. Central Ave., will feature gourmet versions of the thinly-sliced, slow-cooked beef that are roasted in different flavored broths and topped with fancy sandwich fixings. Of course The Original and the sausage coupling, The Combo, are on the menu, as well as Carolina BBQ, Chipotle, Garlic Parmesan, Black & Bleu, Sriracha, and Bourbon BBQ to tempt you palate. Mark your calendars to stop in between 11:30am to 9:00pm beginning Tuesday, 12/1, to start trying these delicacies.

Last week, the CTA board announced that the Western to Fullerton leg of the No. 11 bus will be reinstated in the spring of 2016 in a pilot trial period. Parameters have yet to be set to determine which days of the week and times the pilot will run and what results will need to be affirmed for the route to be reinstated permanently. This part of the route had been terminated 3 years ago and Alderman Ameya Pawar has been advocating to restore the route and considers this "a huge victory" for now.
