TECHNOLOGY TIPS - WATCH THE US PLAY IN THE WORLD CUP AT SOLDIER FIELD

FIFA World Cup viewing parties are popping up all over the Chicagoland area.  The largest one most recently announced is the party at Soldier Field.

On Tuesday afternoon, fans can gather on the field or in the stands to watch the game.  Gates will open at 1:30pm and the game will be shown on the north end zone Jumbotron. The game starts at 3pm and is the ESPN live feed of the match between USA and Belgium. For the many soccer fans located in Chicago, US Soccer wanted a safe and spacious location.

If you haven't been to Soldier Field before, the rules are pretty simple. Expect a bag search of all your belongings. Fans are permitted to tailgate outside.  Food and drink cannot be taken into the stadium, where beer, soda and Team USA gear will be sold. Admission is free for this event.

If you plan to take public transportation, note that you'll need a Ventra card. CTA and Pace will no longer accept magnetic fare cards as payment on buses or trains.
