I don't know about you but I get a lot of notifications.  I actually have work email, personal email, voice mail, text and app update notifications on my phone on a regular basis. It can be quite time consuming having to go through all them.

On an Android phone, you have to slide down the notification section at the top of your phone. Then you  have to select those items you want to view (or not).  You cannot choose the order in which you get the preview because the list shows in order of most recent first.  If you get 5 emails between work and personal, then the most recent list goes on top.  If you're like me, you've probably also set up separate tones for each notification so you know whether you want to look at them.  This can be annoying if you need to turn the sound off of your phone and defeats the whole purpose.

I was trying to find a solution to this dilemma when I found Peek for Android. The main purpose of the app according to the designers, "the whole concept lies into allowing users to quickly interact with their notifications, without having to press any button." So when your screen is off and you receive a notification, the movement of your phone will prompt Peek to display for 10 seconds. It's designed to save on battery life too, which we all need.

The app is still slightly new but the use of it is extremely helpful allowing you not to be distracted by the notifications on your phone and focus on other things.
