PORTAGE PARK

SCREEEEAM!!!  Terror in the Aisles... and we are not talking about holiday shopping!  Check out a triple horror feature including Gary Schultz's Devil in My Ride, Lucio Fulci's The Black Cat and Dario Argento's classic chiller Suspiria.  Fans of Gary Schultz will get a chance to meet him and poster artist Mitch O'Connell.  Saturday 11/30 at 7:00 p.m. for $12 per person at Patio Theatre located at 6008 West Irving Park Road.  Please call 773-685-4291 for more information.

LINCOLN PARK

Lincoln Park Zoo is about to light up the night with the 18th annual ZooLights exhibition!  In addition to approximately two million lights, this family friendly and free event includes holiday crafts, animal encounters, 3D displays, ice craving demo and photos with Santa (until 12/23).  The ice skating rink is now open ($5 per person and $5 to rent skates).  During ZooLights, Lincoln Park Zoo will be collecting new and gently used winter clothing to distribute to Chicago charities (donation box located at Park Place Café).  Friday 11/29 at 4:45 p.m. for the lighting ceremony at the stairs next to Café at Wild Things at the Lincoln Park Zoo located at 2200 North Cannon Drive.  ZooLights continues through the weekend (11/30 and 12/1) and 12/6-12/8, 12/13-12/23 (note: Santa Claus heads back to the North Pole after 12/23), 12/26-1/5/14.  Please call 312-742-2000 for more information.

WEST LOOP

Oh la la!  It is time for the Chicago French Market to open its annual Marche de Noel.  In the tradition of a seasonal French bazaar, you can shop from a rotating group of artisans and eat seasonal treats from local vendors.  Weekdays only starting Wednesday 11/27 until Friday 12/20 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Chicago French Market located at 131 North Clinton Street.  Please call 312-575-0306 for more information.

GOLD COAST

Hark the herald angels sing!  Nope... it is Chicago A Cappella singing a lovely mix of holiday tunes.  Sunday 12/1 at 4:00 p.m. for $30-$38 per person ($25 for seniors and $12 for students) at the Fourth Presbyterian Church located at 126 East Chestnut Street.  Tickets are available for purchase at Chicago A Cappella.  Please call 312-787-4570 for more information.

EVANSTON

Evanston History Center presents its 8th annual holiday food drive and open house.  Dawes House is all decked out in holiday sparkle featuring arts and crafts at the Evanston History Center.  Music will be provided by Marian McNair and Jim Fine (1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and piano by Chris Mahieu (2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.).  Sunday 12/1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dawes House located at 225 Greenwood Street.  Please call 847-475-3410 for more information.  The food drive is hosted by the Greater Chicago Food Depository and all donations will benefit Evanston food pantry for local area residents.  Evanston History Center will collect non-perishable (no glass, please) nutritious food items starting Saturday 11/30 through Thursday 12/5 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
