As the proud provider of the Oscar statuette award, Chicago is gearing up for another year of Oscar viewing party events throughout the city on Sunday.  However, before we get to Sunday evening, there's Saturday to deal with!

Take yourself and some friends to Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue) in the Streeterville neighborhood on Saturday (12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.) for The World's Largest Indoor Bar Crawl.  It's time to take a break, wander Navy Pier with drink in hand, escape the chilly weather and never step foot outside.  Your $20 ticket entry includes one drink ticket, drink specials at each participating bar, a T-shirt, lanyard, live entertainment, games, raffles, prizes and complimentary trolley service from 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. (Red Line Grand subway stop and partner hotels)!

The Junior Advisory Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is hosting Winter Games at Sheffield's (3258 N. Sheffield Avenue) in the Lakeview neighborhood Saturday at 11:00 a.m.  This day of winter-themed games includes a frozen T-shirt contest, flip cup, beer pong, karaoke and Olympic-style speed events.  Best team costume wins prizes so don't forget to dress up to support your favorite sport or country!  Proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as well!!

Here's an event you don't see that often, if ever -- the Pinewood Derby at Derby (1224 W. Webster Avenue) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Your entrance fee includes a car kit so you can build a car and race for prizes such as $500, Cubs or Bulls tickets and a Big Onion gift card.  Food and drink specials will also be available!

Guess what?  It's Oscar time!  Here's the low down on where some of Chicago's Oscar viewing parties will be taking place this Sunday -

Oscar Experience: Chicago 2013 takes place at the Gene Siskel Film Center, School of the Art Institute of Chicago (164 N. Oscar Viewing Party takes place at Rockit Bar & Grill (22 W. Hubbard Street) on the Near North side at 6:30 p.m. for a VIP Reception until 8:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. for the Red Carpet, and 7:30 p.m. for the live telecast.  This annual event is being hosted by Richard Roeper and Billy Dec where guests can place their Oscar picks against the hosts' for a chance to win prizes such as 2 round-trip American Airlines tickets, an autographed baseball from Cubs player David DeJesus, a 2012-2013 Blackhawks Team Signed Hockey Stick and much more!  Tickets are $50 and include themed Prosecco cocktails, wine and hors d'oeuvres from Rockit Bar & Grill.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit After School Matters!

Academy Award Party and Trivia Night takes place at Fizz Bar & Grill (3220 N. Lincoln Avenue) in the Roscoe Village neighborhood at 7:00 p.m.  Sip on $5 champagne and mimosas all night while watching the Academy Awards and playing movie trivia during the commercial breaks!
