The day all football fans (me included) look forward to is right around the corner - Super Bowl Sunday!  As much as we would have liked our beloved Chicago Bears to be one of the teams in New Orleans this weekend, Chicagoans are still planning for a Super Sunday!

Before I get to the meat and potatoes portion, I know some of you will be hosting a Super Sunday party and thought you may like to pick up some of your food essentials at one of these indoor markets -

Green City Market is Chicago's premiere outdoor market during warmer months, but resides indoors from November to April at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Clark Street) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Besides the usual offerings of meats, fish, artisanal cheeses, apples, sauces, baked goods, fresh pasta and more, there are also chef demonstrations and children's activities!

Winter Farmers Market is located right next door to their regular season site at the Morton Grove American Legion Civic Center (6140 Dempster Street) in Morton Grove, which is just on the outskirts of the northwest side of Chicago.  This market offers shoppers locally produced fruits and vegetables, baked goods, crafts and more as well as cooking demonstrations & free samples, live music and entertainment for the kids!

And then, Saturday evening at 11:00 p.m. the pH Comedy Theater (1515 W. Berwyn Avenue) in the Andersonville neighborhood brings us pHrenzy Bowl.  This improv show parodies an entire NFL season, from draft day to the trophy presentation, complete with a live tailgating party - food and beer included, and a Kelly Clarkson impersonator singing the Star Spangled Banner (will she be lip-syncing?)!

Finally, Sunday morning brings us the Chi-Town Big Game 5K/10K at the United Club at Soldier Field (1410 S. Museum Campus Drive) in the South Loop.  Post-run, participants can enjoy food, beverages, entertainment and live music.  Don't forget to don your favorite team's jersey for the Big Game!

It's time for the meat and potatoes portion!  Super Bowl XLVII - Kick-off 5:30 p.m. - San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens - Jim Harbaugh vs. John Harbaugh!!
