TECHNOLOGY TIPS – FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER CREDIT REPAYMENTS COMING
If you are one of the many people who took advantage of the
first time homebuyer credit, you may have to start making your repayments this
year. The IRS is helping you out with
that by offering a tool online that will give you the total amount of your
credit as well as your repayment amount.
Simply go to the FTHBC tool. You'll need
to enter your social security number (or IRS individual taxpayer identification
number), date of birth, street address and zip code. The first time you click this link you'll see
a pop-up that lets you know your actions will be tracked. This is for your protection and prevents
scammers from trying to get into your information.

capturing by authorized personnel of all activities. There is no right to privacy in this system. Unauthorized use of this system is
prohibited and subject to criminal and civil penalties, including all penalties

records (under 18 U.S.C. 1030 and 26 U.S.C. 7213A and 26 U.S.C.
7431).
The IRS is offering a lot of new tools this year to help with
getting your taxes done sooner and more easily.
It's worth taking a look at their website to see what else you can use
before consulting your tax professional.
