THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - HERE COMES ANOTHER “FEST”IVE WEEKEND FOR CHICAGOANS!

Don't look now, but here comes another "fest"ive weekend for Chicagoans and visitors alike!  I won't keep you in suspense any longer, well, on second thought ... ok, I'll give it to you straight -

Italian or not, come celebrate your Italian pride or your amore for Italian food at the 6th annual Festa Italiana 2012 in the Little Italy neighborhood located on Taylor Street between Racine Street and Ashland Avenue on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  This festival which celebrates the history and heritage of this historic Chicago neighborhood not only features the tradition of great food from Taylor Street's renowned restaurants but also features live entertainment on three main stages with a line up that includes Italian-inspired solo artists and musical groups, pop and rock entertainment, and a kid's stage and tent with fun activities to keep any youngster entertained!

There's also the traditional Italian games and contests such as a bocce ball tournament for players of all skill levels, a grape stomping competition paying homage to the old days of winemaking in Italy, and the Turano Baking Company and Fontanini meatball eating contest for all fest goers - Mama Mia!!  Sure sounds like an experience you won't want to miss this summer!!!

Another Chicago ultimate summer festival you won't want to miss is Retro on Roscoe located in the Roscoe Village neighborhood at Damen Avenue and Roscoe Street (2000 W. Roscoe Street) on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Highlights of this festival include Chicago's top talent and entertainment on 3 main stages, six full blocks of craft and antique vendors, local restaurants and regional favorites provide samplings and tasty treats, a family area provides inflatables and other activities for the kids and Four Treys Bar hosts this year's Antique and Classic Car & Motorcycle show featuring over 50 antique, classic and muscle cars!!

Billed as the largest street fest of its kind in the Midwest the 31st annual Northalsted Market Days returns to the Lakeview neighborhood at Halsted Street and Belmont Avenue (3200 N. Halsted Street) on Saturday and Sunday (11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.).  This street festival features about 400 food and unique arts & craft vendors as well as live music on four stages.  On Saturday, stop by the 104.3 K-HITS tent from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for your chance to win all sorts of prizes from their prize wheel.  This fest definitely has something for everyone, so make sure you come out to the largest street fair in the Midwest!!

The South Side is the place to be for this year's 83rd Annual Bud Billiken Parade & Picnic taking place this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  39th Street and South Martin Luther King Drive is where the parade takes place with hundreds of local and out of state bands, drill teams, dance teams, car clubs, celebrities, entertainers and elected officials.  The post-parade large picnic takes place at the parade's end in Washington Park (5531 S. Martin Luther King Drive) featuring food, music, local entertainment, free give-a-ways and more!  What would summer be without Chicago's premier Back-to-School event?

Lastly, The Fest for Beatles Fans takes place this weekend at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare (9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue) in Rosemont.  Now in its 35th year, this fest features a giant Beatles marketplace, memorabilia, live trivia, photo & art exhibits, auctions, performances by Liverpool, sound-alikes and much more.  The special guest line up for this year includes Spencer Davis, Freda Kelly, Tom Scott, Mark Hudson and WXRT's Terri Hemmert!  So, what would you do if I sang out of tune?

Gear Up OR Miss Out!  It's Your Choice - Choose Wisely - I Would!!
