TECHNOLOGY TIPS - GOOGLE'S LATEST IMAGERY UPDATES
I can recall when Google Earth came out and created such excitement among all of us. We could put in our own address and see the front of our house. It then became more interesting when you would look up directions and could get a 3D view of your route. If you haven't tried that out, you should. It's just fun to see how you would be driving along streets and highways.
Just in time for the Olympics, Google has released "another extensive catalog of new imagery." The changes specifically relate to the high resolution aerial and satellite imagery as well as the 45° imagery. There were 25 cities and 72 countries/regions released last Friday and available in Google Earth.
Chicago is featured as part of Google's 45° imagery update. Because of our impressive skyline and notable building heights, this imagery really stands out. Other cities in the United States include Anderson, CA, Joplin, MO, and Pittsburgh, PA, just to name a few. And now if you want to see your favorite spot while also getting updates, Google offers Follow Your World.
