THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - HO HO HO! CHRISTMAS IS HERE!

Believe it or
not, but
"Christmas Is Here!"
While
most Chicagoans will be hustling about trying to finish up their last minute
holiday preparations for Christmas Eve (Saturday) and/or Christmas Day (Sunday),
there's always something fun and relaxing to do here in Chicago even though most businesses start
closing up shop.
There's
still (check special holiday hours) -
The
"Christmas
Around The World" and "Holidays of Light" at the
Museum of Science
and Industry (5700 S. Lake Shore
Drive) in the Hyde Park
neighborhood. Representing diverse
holiday celebrations around the globe, two annual displays feature over 50
decorated trees, which surround the centerpiece tree - a 45-foot tree with more
than 1,000 ornaments and 30,000 lights.
Rounding out the holiday festivities are music and dance performances
with falling "snow!"
The
Holiday Windows
at
Macy's (111 N. State Street) in the Loop. The making
of an ornament is this year's theme displayed along State Street now in its 44
th year. While there stop inside to see Macy's Great
Tree that stands 45 feet tall and features over 2,000 ornaments!
The
Winter Wonderfest
at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue) in the Streeterville
neighborhood. This event features rides,
inflatable slides, ice skating, holiday décor and live entertainment. Hundreds of trees decorated with thousands of
ornaments add a festive look to this wonderfest!
The
Christmas
Sing-Along and Double Feature at the Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport Avenue) in the Lakeview
neighborhood. Sing carols with Santa
between screenings of "White Christmas"
and "It's A Wonderful Life" at this
annual holiday film event now in its 28th year!
For
your Holiday dining enjoyment, there's -
Christmas
Eve at Park Grill (11
N. Michigan Avenue) in the Grant Park Museums
neighborhood is serving from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The regular lunch menu is accompanied with
some specials and a special holiday menu is available during dinner!
Christmas Eve at Deleece (3747 N. Southport
Avenue) in the Lakeview neighborhood serves holiday specials such as oyster
stew, roasted pork loin, prime rib and venison along with its regular menu from
5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.!
Christmas Day at The
Terrace
(521 N. Rush Street)
in the River North neighborhood is serving a four-course dinner that includes
roasted beets with goat cheese mousse, shrimp bisque, slow-roasted prime rib
and egg nog crème brulee from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.!
Finally,
there's the
Rockmitzvah
2011 Christmas Eve Event which is Chicago's biggest and best Christmas Eve
party held at the
Rockit Bar & Grill
(22 W. Hubbard Street)
in the River North neighborhood from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Tickets include 50% off food all night long
as well as a private reception with a food & beverage package from 8:30
p.m.-10:00 p.m.!
