THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - CAPTURE THE HOLIDAY MAGIC!
Okay, listen up everybody.  This is your last chance to "Capture the Holiday Magic" here in Chicago before Santa arrives next weekend with all your gifts, so let's get out there and get into the spirit of the Holidays with these great events--

Holiday Windows at Macy's (111 N. State Street) in the Loop.  The making of an ornament is this year's theme displayed along State Street now in its 44th year.  While you're there stop inside to see Macy's Great Tree that stands 45 feet tall and features over 2,000 ornaments!

"Christmas Around The World" and "Holidays of Light" at the Museum of Science and Industry (5700 S. Lake Shore Drive) in the Hyde Park neighborhood.  Representing diverse holiday celebrations around the globe, two annual displays feature over 50 decorated trees, which surround the centerpiece tree - a 45-foot tree with more than 1,000 ornaments and 30,000 lights.  Rounding out the holiday festivities are music and dance performances with falling "snow!"  It may be the only snow you'll see for Christmas!

Christmas Sing-Along and Double Feature at the Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport Avenue) in the Lakeview neighborhood.  Sing carols with Santa between screenings of "White Christmas" and "It's A Wonderful Life" at this annual holiday film event now in its 28th year!

Songs of Good Cheer at the Old Town School of Folk Music (4544 N. Lincoln Avenue) in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.  It's a holiday caroling party with musicians from the Old Town School of Folk Music and Chicago Tribune columnists Mary Schmich and Eric Zorn!

Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Cannon Drive) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.  A holiday costume with bells tied to your shoes is encouraged for this annual 5K benefit jaunt!

Dreidel and Santa Rampage at the Twisted Spoke (501 N. Ogden Avenue) in the West Town neighborhood this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  It's a seven-mile bike ride through the city dressed up as a dreidel, Santa or an elf and ending at the Billy Goat Tavern!

Holiday Magic at the Brookfield Zoo (8400 31st Street) in Brookfield.  The zoo stays open late just to show off more than 1 million holiday lights along with a laser light show, carolers, storytellers and much more!

Victorian Christmas Tour at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio (951 Chicago Avenue) in Oak Park this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.  Decorated for the holidays, explore this landmark home and learn about the Wright family Christmas celebrations during a 30-minute tour led by trained young guides.  Holiday music and hot chocolate complement the festivities!

As usual, I always save the best for last -

Holiday Hound Up at the Twist ‘n' Twirl Frozen Yogurt (111 W. North Avenue) in the Old Town neighborhood this Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Mingle with other pet lovers as you take Fido on a guided walk through the neighborhood.  Photos, treats, frozen yogurt, adoption information and a "cutest dog" contest are also part of this holiday event!

Will You Be Capturing the Holiday Magic or Do I Have To Send Over The Spirits?
