It's hard to believe that "Christmas Holiday Activities Have Arrived In Chicago" already!  I'm still trying to recoup from my Thanksgiving Day dinner!!

Of course, the number one, and most important, activity of the season is holiday shopping, and if you're like me and slept right through Black Friday, then perhaps the following events will be of some help for that shopping list:

The Christkindlmarket Chicago is held at the Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington Street) in the Loop daily through December 23rd.  Now in its 16th year, this annual open-air, traditional German American holiday market showcases, from over 50 vendors, accessories, clothing, gifts and handmade ornaments along with some German favorites such as hot spiced wine, bratwurst, schnitzel, potato pancakes, chocolates and more!

The One Stop Holiday Shoppe is being held this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Espresso Thy Art (4019 N. Damen Avenue) in the North Center neighborhood.  Available for purchase will be baked goods, chocolates, candies, jams, cards, calendars and more from local vendors Salted Caramel, Sweet Spot Macarons, Jo Snow Syrups and Defloured Bakery!

The Urban Folk Circuit is being held this Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Double Door (1572 N. Milwaukee Avenue) in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood.  More than 30 local artisans will be showcasing their handmade arts and crafts.  Demonstrations of glassblowing and origami gift box making will also be featured as well as live acoustic music by Rachel KatzmanFarr, The Adaptations, Cousin Dud and others!

The Bucktown Bazaar is being held this Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Holstein Park Fieldhouse (2200 N. Oakley Avenue) in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood.  Handmade gifts from over 40 DIY crafters and established artisans will be featured to assist with making a dent in your holiday shopping!

Shopping activity doesn't apply to you?  Well, here are some fun activities you can share with your family and/or friends to experience the holiday season:

The Signature Room at the 95th (875 N. Michigan Avenue) on the Magnificent Mile will be hosting their Holiday Kick-Off Party on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  A brunch buffet, mocktails, cookie decorating and appearance by Santa will be featured at this bash hosted by WTMX-FM 101.9 and WILV-FM 100.3!

Jolly Old St. Nick will again spread his holiday cheer and grace UL's Santa House located at the Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington Street) in the Loop daily through December 24th.  Children and their families can experience the wonder of the North Pole, Santa's Workshop and have their picture taken with Santa Claus after sharing with Santa their holiday wishes!

Celebrate the holiday season at Millennium Park (N. Michigan Avenue & E. Randolph Street) in the Loop when Caroling at Cloud Gate returns on Friday evenings (6:00 p.m.-6:50 p.m.) through December 16th.  Hundreds of singers gather for a magical evening of caroling led by a different Chicago choral group with complimentary warm beverages being provided by Caribou Coffee!  Next Friday's caroling will be led by the Apollo Chorus of Chicago.

Nearly 2 million lights add holiday cheer to Lincoln Park Zoo (2200 N. Cannon Drive) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood with their annual ZooLights spectacular!  Rounding out the festivities this year will be kids' activities, visits with Santa and ice carving demonstrations!
