TECHNOLOGY TIPS – RESERVE YOUR PARKING WITHOUT WAITING
Now I'm an
iGo girl all
the way. I have not had a car since
moving into Chicago over 10 years ago.
One thing I love about this particular aspect is that I don't have to
find parking unless I'm heading somewhere and they don't have a parking
lot.
And I don't know about you but I don't have time to waste
on something as mundane as parking. So
let me introduce you to SpotHero, a new online wizard that helps you reserve parking
spaces in advance, online now. It's specifically for Chicagoans and developed
by a couple of local guys who apparently ran up something like $5K in parking
tickets.
Working a deal with the state, I'm assuming some forgiveness
of outstanding tickets was involved, you can reserve one of a couple hundred
spots scattered across a few neighborhoods. Right now it's just the Loop,
Wrigleyville, River North and Chinatown, but as their service gains notoriety private
garages and residents are helping it grow daily.
