THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - A VARIETY-FILLED, HOLIDAY-THEMED WEEKEND!
Snow is in the forecast and just in time to add the finishing touches on this "variety-filled, Holiday-themed" weekend!

For the shoppers, or those who just like to browse, the following Holiday-themed events have been planned for you -

December on Damen - browse through Bucktown and Wicker Park boutiques on Damen Avenue between North and Webster Avenues this Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. while sipping on some hot chocolate.  Then walk with free pedi-cab rides to the -

Do-Division Holiday - browse through discounted merchandise and get food and drink deals at restaurants, bars and shops at this annual event held in the East Village/Ukrainian Village neighborhoods on Division Street between the Kennedy Expressway and Leavitt Street this Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Then take a free horse-drawn carriage ride or trolley ride to the -

Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale - browse through handmade ceramics, clothing, jewelry and more at this annual indie bazaar event held in the West Town neighborhood at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse this Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  More than 150 artists will be displaying their crafts, which also includes food and drink vendors and free raffle prizes!

For a little change of pace, a traditional Swedish Christmas market, known as Julmarknad, will be held at the Swedish American Museum Center (5211 N. Clark Street) in the Andersonville neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10:00 a.m.  A Christmas café, crafts, dance performances, visits with Santa and more are featured at this year's market!

The Lincoln Square neighborhood at Leland and Western Avenues invokes a small German-style village for their three-day event the Lincoln Square Christkindl Market.  This outdoor celebration, needless to say, will feature German food, beer and hot drinks for sale, as well as a holiday market, live Christmas music, visits with Santa and much more!

For the non-shoppers, this weekend brings to you -

Winter Wonderfest held at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue) in the Streeterville neighborhood.  This 10th annual event not only displays hundreds of trees decorated with 750,000 ornaments to add that "festive, Holiday-themed" look, but also includes carolers, ice skating and rides!  Or, the

Holiday House Tour held in the Norwood Park neighborhood at 5801 N. Natoma Avenue this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  This 27th annual event showcases the 1833 Noble-Seymour Crippen House, Chicago's oldest house, as well as other local homes all decorated for the Holidays.  Tour booklets, maps and a slide show of this neighborhood's architecture and history are also included!

And finally, for those who love outdoor activities no matter what the weather is like, this weekend brings you the -

Santa Hustle 5K, now in its second year, with its winter run and walk, featuring decorations and Christmas music, to Montrose Harbor in the Uptown neighborhood this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.  Your registration includes a Santa hat, beard and shirt, as well as a post-race party with food and drinks!  Or,

Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis held this Saturday, 9:00 a.m., at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Cannon Drive) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.  The participants of this annual 5K benefit usually deck themselves out in a holiday costume and tie bells on their shoes for this Holiday-themed jaunt!

WARNING!  You have 3 weeks left before Holiday-themed weekends are a distant memory - get out there and ENJOY YOURSELVES!!
