KATHY’S HOME & GARDEN TIPS – FERAL CATS IN CHICAGO
When a member of our team asked me to look into solutions for a feral cat problem I thought it would be fairly simple to research and find a solution to this problem. Not so.

Exploring the City of Chicago website and checking animal control only yielded a place where you can report a stray animal online and no other information. A search on the site for feral cats yielded no results.

Searching for feral cats on Google yielded more results. In the Chicago area I found two websites dealing with this problem - Alley Cat and Pact Humane Society. It seems that both these societies deal in only "humane" treatment of these feral cats. They advocate TNR which stands for "trap, neuter and release". They provide low cost vets and other help. While I love animals as much or more than the next person, I think this is a bit much to expect from the general public.

Your best bet is to contact animal control where you can report stray pets easily online.  Happy catching!
