THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - FEAST AT FESTS STILL ON THE MENU!
There's still time to "Feast at Fests" this weekend in Chicago as the fall season officially arrives this coming Thursday.  Then it's time to switch gears, but until then, let the summer fun continue!

Previously held at Grant Park, Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival rounds out the summer season this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph Street) showcasing salsa, meringue, cumbia and more from international and local artists at their 22nd annual festival.

The Italian Expo brings local artists, chefs and designers to compete for attendees votes at this 4th annual event held at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue).  Over 100 vendors will also be on hand to sell Italian food (yummy), wine, jewelry and much more.

The Lincoln Square neighborhood brings its annual outdoor festival, Harvest Jam, to the Queen of Angels Church (2333 W. Sunnyside Avenue) this weekend with carnival games, a chili cook-off on Sunday, kids' activities and live music.  Vendors will also be on hand to sell Mexican food, popcorn, cookies, beer, wine, sangria and more.

In conjunction with Harvest Jam, the Chicago Park District will be hosting Circus in the Parks - Midnight Circus at Welles Park this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.  In an open air city park setting, the Midnight Circus is a whimsical assortment of acrobats, clowns, aerialists, contortionists and a dog providing delightful entertainment.  Tickets are $15; however, discounts are available for groups of 20 or more.  This is a great family event which also supports the local park!

The Guinness Oyster Fest located at Damen Avenue and Roscoe Streets in the Roscoe Village neighborhood, will have oyster vendors, such as The Village Tap and Piazza Bella Trattoria, serving up fresh oysters this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Plenty of Guinness by the pints will be on hand as well to wash down those fresh oysters while listening to live music provided by an array of musical talent.

Not to be left out of the end of summer fests, Will's Northwoods Inn (3030 N. Racine Avenue) in the Lakeview neighborhood brings the Musky Fest this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at its establishment.  This 19th annual indoor-outdoor celebration of all things Wisconsin, will be hosted by a grand marshal, Jake Leinenkugel, president of the Leinenkugel Brewing Co. and will feature food, live music from six bands and giveaways.  Ladies, Lin Brehmer from WXRT-FM 93.1 will be on hand to crown the Musky Queen, which takes place at 10:00 p.m., based on customer votes.  Don't miss your big chance to be crowned a queen!

Celebrating the 1998 Coen brothers' comedy this Saturday beginning at 8:00 p.m. is the Lebowski Fest:  Saturday being held at Diversey Rock ‘n Bowl (2211 W. Diversey Avenue).  This bowling party includes costumes, trivia and other contests, as well as the cost of your shoe rental.

Finally, another great family event takes place Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Garfield Park Conservatory (300 N. Central Park Avenue).  In honor of harvest season, the County Fair now in its 10th year will feature beekeeping, composting demonstrations, a farmers' market, recipe swaps, garden-tool sharpening services, food and live music.  A petting zoo, pony rides ($1) and games for families will also be featured at this urban hoedown!

All Feasted and Fested Out Yet?  Goodbye Summer - We'll See You Next Year!!
