Looking for something organic and spa-worthy?  Now you can check out newly opened BG Salon in Norwood Park.  They offer organic hair color, highlights, botanical perms, hair gloss, up-do's, extensions, lash tinting, air brush tanning and waxing.  With affordable costs they are also giving back through the Matter of Trust Hair for Oil Spills, which is a worthy cause that is currently concentrating on making and deploying boom.

LINCOLN PARK

EDrop-Off relocated last year to 2117 North Halsted Street.  This is one of the largest luxury eBay stores in the country.  With their own online bidding store, you can also view items by appointment.  Each day they offer about 100 new items on their site which are posted between 6-9 pm.

LOOP

Are you a Betty White fan?  Well, mark your calendars because she's coming to town for the BraveHearts Therapeutic Riding Center benefit on August 24.   There will be a reception and dinner, starting at 6pm and held at the University Club of Chicago.  BraveHearts is nationally recognized for their work providing various forms of equine therapy to veterans, kids with autism and children and adults with various disabilities.

OLD TOWN

It's only a year old and still going strong as one of the best burger joints in Chicago.  When you go to Old Town Social you experience some amazing burgers and house-made charcuterie that really sets this local spot apart from the rest.  The locale is made up of three very distinct parts - hip and trendy spot, neighborhood gastropub and sports bar (only when necessary).

NAPERVILLE/EVANSTON/OAK PARK

August 18 is a big day for the Naperville Plan Commission.  Three years ago the City Council and Plan Commission approved a 5-story apartment development along Water Street in the downtown Naperville area.  Next week, permission is being sought to replace the proposed apartments with a hotel and additional parking space.
