THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - WE HAVE A REALLY BIG SHOW FOR YOU!
Lolla's back! If you missed Lolla 2009, now is your chance to attend this year's three-day long music fest. You don't want to miss this one because Chicago has a "really big show for you" this weekend!!
Lollapalooza 2010 officially kicked-off this morning, Friday, August 6th, at 11:00 a.m. and will wrap-up on Sunday, August 8th, with the last performances taking place from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Grant Park (500 S. Columbus Drive) is the place to be. Two top acts include: Lady Gaga, appearing on the Parkways Stage Friday at 8:00 p.m., and Erykah Badu, appearing on the Adidas MEGA Stage Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Of course, there are many other great performances taking place on eight stages such as The Black Keys, The Strokes, Green Day and Soundgarden, as well as many, many others. Also on hand for the kids is the Kidzapalooza Stage, and don't forget the F.Y.E. Autograph Tent.

Besides Lolla, there are many other events taking place this weekend as well. And they are --
Northalsted Market Days, billed as the Midwest's largest outdoor two-day event, takes place this Saturday and Sunday on Halsted Street between Belmont Avenue and Addison Street. Now in its 29th year, this fest provides three stages with more than 40 acts that include party bands and jazz. Nearly 400 vendors will be on hand with food, drinks, crafts and trinkets for sale. Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will be closing out this fest on Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m.
Retro on Roscoe takes place in the Roscoe Village neighborhood at 2000 W. Roscoe Street (from Damen to Oakley Avenues). Now in its 16th year, this street fest brings you food and beer vendors, three stages of live music, an antique car show, shopping opportunities and the Windy City Chili Cook-Off, which features more than 25 cooks with their recipes.
Taylor Street Festa Italiana in the Little Italy neighborhood (1000 S. Ashland Avenue) will be featuring Italian food, beer vendors, live music, a market, cooking demonstrations, a Sunday mass and more at their 4th annual street fest.
Festival Cubano held at Riis Park (6100 W. Fullerton Avenue) in the Belmont Cragin/Hermosa neighborhood is all about Cuban culture and features food vendors, art, dominoes and chess tournaments, kids' activities, dance performances and live music from Grammy-winner Albita and others.
Big Dig North Avenue Beach Party takes place this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at North Avenue Beach (1600 N. Lake Shore Drive). This 2nd annual competition includes bags, volleyball and dodgeball for your chance to win prizes. Not competitive, just kick back and watch the action. Live music from Mike & Joe and DJ Torio along with food and beer vendors will also be on hand.
The Crafters Round-up held at Chase Park (4701 N. Ashland Avenue) in the Ravenswood neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday will feature nearly 75 artists displaying their crafts from jewelry, paintings, prints, silkscreened cards, textiles and more.
Last, but not least, this Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Daley Plaza (55 W. Randolph Street) in the Loop brings you the ‘Starring the Loop' Scavenger Hunt. Bring your movie knowledge and scour the Loop for sites that were featured in Hollywood films and TV shows for your chance to win a gift certificate for another scavenger hunt. RSVP is required!
