KATHY’S HOME & GARDEN TIPS – MAKE A HEALTHY SPACE FOR THE NEW BABY

There seems to be a baby boom going on. My son and daughter-in-law have three and most of their friends have at least two. With all the
eco-friendly products around it's easy to create a healthy and safe living space that will help baby grow and thrive.
Choose eco-friendly wood flooring such as bamboo. Hardwood is better than allergen collecting carpet. Add softness with a washable fiber rug or mat. Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter on floors and rugs. Use zero VOC paint when remodeling. It's safe for baby and the environment and dries with no lingering oder.
Cordless cellular shades let in filtered natural light while providing a safe cord free shade that's easy to use. Add simple natural fiber curtains to help filter light and provide warmth.
Use a three bulb floor lamp near the rocking chair for adjustable light. Have bright overhead light for playtime and cleanup. Add a plug-in nightlight for safety.
Proper ventilation and clean air are vital for health and safety. An air purifier will remove dust, mold, pollen, and animal dander.
