For those active moms who don't get to sleep in late, the Walk To Empower 5K run and 1- and 3-mile walks will take place Sunday at Grant Park (300 E. Roosevelt Road). Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. with the run and walks starting at 8:00 a.m. Stick around for refreshments and an awards ceremony after crossing the finish line. Is your mom a moviegoer? If so, the Music Box Theatre in the Lakeview neighborhood at 3733 N. Southport Avenue is hosting a screening this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. of the classic Joan Crawford flick, Mother's Day with ‘Mommie Dearest'. Your host will be Dick O'Day, former commentator of "Wild Chicago". Pre-show activities include a mother/daughter matching outfit contest, entertainment by Hell in a Handbag Productions and much more.
