CHICAGO NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS – NORWOOD PARK, SOUTH LOOP, LAKE VIEW, GOLD COAST, EVANSTON

It's that time of year again when spring is not only in the air but in the house.  Spring cleaning is a wonderful tradition that is also a way for you to garner some extra karma points by making donations.  The Norwood Park Historical Society is accepting donations for the annual yard sale to be held on June 19.  Donate your gently or unused items for this great event.

SOUTH LOOP

There is nothing in life like a fine wine.  Thursday night is the annual Wine Enthusiast Toast of the Town at the Field Museum.  Chicago's top restaurants will pair food with wines from around the globe.  Enjoy select open exhibits while tasting the delicious food, wine and spirits all set to wonderful background of music and culture.  Tickets are still available for the VIP reception where you can join the private tasting of Cardinale 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon.

LAKE VIEW

Just hearing this show called a sketch-rock mash-up has people coming in to view the comedic duo of Laura McKenzie and Laura Grey.  Their latest show, The Laura on Laura Comeback Tour, is a live concert and comedy show in one.  Be prepared to have your "faces melted off" with their own brand of rock.  The show is at iO Improv until May 20th.

GOLD COAST

It's definitely outdoor weather in Chicago.  Bistro 110 is hosting their Patio Launch Party Thursday from 6-8:30 pm.  Chef Dominique Tougne's new bar menu will be unveiled with specially priced beverages.  Entrance to the event is free.  There will be champagne, wine and spirits.  This is a great place to stop before you head over to Toast of the Town later in the evening.

EVANSTON

With all the festivities happening, you need some fabulous jewelry to complete your look.  Local designer Sara Bradstreet's Broad Street Jewelry is hosting their week long trunk show this week.  Not only can they design you something new, but they can also take vintage or family heirlooms and rework them into something new.  They are open Thursday and Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
