The concept behind slydial is a play on the definition where you can appreciate efficient, clever and resourceful means of communication. As a practical application it can help you when you are short on time and can't get into a long conversation.
According to the site, slydial is a free voice messaging service that connects you directly to someone's mobile voicemail. Even the site takes a shot at itself giving possible situations where this would be a great idea, like when you need to buy yourself some time before fessing up to your spouse when you just lost $5000 in Las Vegas.
Of course, there is an app and will work with iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Windows Mobile. There is a free as well as paid version of the service.
