TECHNOLOGY TIPS - EARTH DAY TECHNOLOGY
As we head into Earth Day celebrations, I found a new item being offered by Maytag in what they're calling the Bravos line. The washer is top-loading and Energy Star compliant. The washer comes with an IntelliFill sensor to regulate the amount of water used, making automatic adjustments based on size of the load and type of fabric.
The reason this is so significant is now until April 25, 2010, the State of Illinois Energy Star Rebate Program is in effect. If you purchase a qualifying clothes washer, dishwasher, freezer, refrigerator or room air conditioner which is Energy Star compliant, you will receive a rebate for your purchase.
Part of the program includes an additional $75 mail-in rebate for removal of qualified refrigerators or freezers. All rebates and discounts are paid on a first-come, first-served basis. There are approved vendors where you can purchase a new appliance and the total funding for the state of Illinois is $12,379,000. Get in quickly because once the money is gone, it's gone.
