Today is TAX DAY and the post office only has three locations open all evening: Chicago Main Post Office at 433 W. Harrison Street, Carol Stream Processing & Distribution Center at 500 E. Fullerton Avenue and Palatine Processing and Distribution Center at 1300 E. Northwest Highway.
NORWOOD PARK
Local high school Taft is now on the verge of a major fund-raising campaign. The Taft Pride Committee office, located at 6131 N. Northwest Highway, is open and plans to start a kickoff fund-raising event at the Norwood Park Metra station "sometime in May," says Mike Ulreich, a founder of the Taft High School Pride Committee. Ulreich was instrumental in the new stadium at Lane Tech five years ago.
LINCOLN PARK
Breathe, relax and stretch. Lincoln Park Zoo will be hosting yoga classes beginning in June. The classes are scheduled to take place outdoors near the new oasis Nature Boardwalk, on the zoo's south lawn. You do need to reserve your spot with classes sold in monthly series of four. It's a great way for Mom, Dad and kids to become one with the natural surroundings of the Zoo.

The CTA announced today that new rail cars will be added to the fleet. With trains over 40 years old, the new cars will many enhancements including a smoother ride, enhanced communications system, security cameras on each train, and electronic announcement displays. The new cars will also have room for 20-30 more passengers and wider aisles for passengers with luggage, strollers and bicycles.
RAVENSWOOD
Music, music and more music. When it comes to doing things old-style, this weekend on Saturday you can head out to find your favorite 7" release. Saturday, April 17, is Record Store Day. Local merchants are adding rare finds and special gems for this special shopping day so be sure to stop by your local store to enjoy the festivities. OAK PARK
There's still time to enjoy Architecture in Oak Park Week, which lasts until this Sunday, April 18. Oak Park's architecture and architects, past and present, and their contribution to the cultural and economic vitality of the village are being highlighted. "Oak Park has more architects living and working there than anywhere else in the free world," said Darrel Babuk, one of the event's organizers.
