THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - SOME LIKE IT HOT -- SOME LIKE IT COLD!

As we head into the second weekend of April, I'm not sure if it's going to be summer or winter out there! So, here are a few indoor (too hot or cold outside) and outdoor (too cold or hot outside) events you can choose from depending on whether you like it "hot" or you like it "cold" -
The Logan Square Kitchen located in the Logan Square neighborhood at 2333 N. Milwaukee Avenue will be hosting their Spring Pastry Market this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Purchase one-of-a-kind creations from over 12 vendors that not only include pastries but also cookies, chocolate and ice cream. Baking demonstrations will also be taking place, so click here for a list of participating vendors.
Dine on an a la carte brunch menu at Bull & Bear located in the River North neighborhood at 431 N. Wells Street at their Saturday and Sunday Pajama Jam Brunch. Not only do you get to stay in your PJ's but you'll also get to watch Saturday morning cartoons and/or ‘80s movies. How cool is that! Click here for more information.
The Music Box Theatre located in the Lakeview neighborhood at 3733 N. Southport Avenue will be hosting the Sci-Fi & Horror Spectacular 4 this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. The price of your ticket includes come-and-go entry. Got a Snuggie (blanket with sleeves) you don't know what to do with? Well, it's the 2nd Annual Snuggie Pub Crawl this Saturday with registration at 10:30 a.m. and the crawl along Lincoln Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. beginning and ending at the Lion Head Pub (2251 N. Lincoln Avenue). This event includes live music, raffles, giveaways and drink specials, but more importantly benefits the AC-Orphanage in Tanzania. Click here for participating bars along the crawl, as well as a list of prizes, which are awesome - check it out!
Wrapping up this weekend is the Reptile Fest 2010 at the University of Chicago campus located at 901 W. Roosevelt Road. This is the Nation's largest educational reptile and amphibian show -- no live animal sales though. See and touch hundreds of reptiles and amphibians from around the world. Be sure to put on your walking shoes for the 40,000 square feet of exhibits, vendors, games and much more. Click here for more information.
During the month of April, visit the Adler Planetarium located at 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive for the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo 13 Mission. In honor of the brave men of that mission, the Planetarium will be hosting family activities, special giveaways and more. Be sure to check out the Shoot for the Moon exhibition where you can view original Apollo 13 artifacts. Click here for more information.
