THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - SHORT BUT SWEET!

As our short-month February draws to a close, this weekend in Chicago will be short but sweet, and perhaps this blog, as well!
The main event taking place this Saturday and Sunday at McCormick Place (2301 S. Lake Shore Drive) is the 2010 International Kennel Club Cluster of Dog Shows. Competing daily for the title of "best in show" will be over 10,000 purebred dogs from 161 breeds. Canine demonstrations, dog-related vendors, educational seminars, performance events and much more will be featured as well. For more information on this event, click here.
This Saturday the DANK-Haus located in the Lincoln Square neighborhood (4740 N. Western Avenue) will be hosting The Vintage Bazaar. Vintage wares, which include accessories, clothing, furniture and home accessories, will be available for sale by more than 40 local vendors. If you're looking for a bargain, then click here for more details.
Wouldn't mind having a little extra cash in your pocket? Head on over this Saturday to the West End Bar & Grill in the West Loop (1326 W. Madison Street) for their second annual Spelling Bee contest. Groups of four to six compete for the $1,000 team grand prize. Drink specials are offered as well! Click here for more details.
The 11th annual Chicago WingFest is in town this Sunday at Journeymen Plumber's Hall located in the West Loop neighborhood (1340 W. Washington Boulevard). Competing Chicago bars and restaurants will be serving up all-you-can-eat wings! Live music, giveaways and a raffle are also featured at this event. A $50 VIP ticket will get you five drink tickets and a gift bag if you so choose to go this route. Click here for more information as well as participating bars and restaurants.
Have a flare for being adventuresome? Then Celebrate Poland this Sunday at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue). Arts and crafts, food vendors, choral groups and much more are being featured at this Polish celebration. Click here for further details.
Don't forget, wrapping up this weekend is the third annual promotion for Chicago Restaurant Week held at various locations throughout Chicago. Don't waste this great opportunity to have a three-course lunch ($22) or dinner ($32) at one or more of the participating restaurants. Click here for a full list of those restaurants.
Hopefully, March's weekends will bring us a larger variety of things to do, but "short and sweet" isn't all that bad either! Right?
