TECHNOLOGY TIPS - THE OLYMPICS ARE COMING
The Olympics are starting this week and I'm here to tell you that the lessons learned in Beijing are definite improvements.
Beijing was the first Olympics broadcast via the Internet and was definitely a step in the right direction for the future of watching the games. With the latest advances, however, Microsoft is trying to create a true TV experience for viewers.
One of the main features will be the option to use your online experience similar to your Tivo experience. You can pause, rewind, and replay during a live broadcast. NBC will be using Silverlight (Microsoft's answer to Adobe Flash) to stream in up to 720p high-definition quality. You will need to have an extremely good connection for this to work.
You will get traditional advertising throughout the games, but now you don't have to wait for pay per view or the recording to become available. Either way you decide to do it, don't get caught at work and GO TEAM USA.
