TECHNOLOGY TIPS - CHARITABLE DONATIONS
With all the devastion in Haiti, it's a shame to have to report this. So all you nasty swindlers out there, I'm on a mission to make sure you don't take the assistance from people truly in need.
I came across this information from one of the many news sources I like to read. It's called Charity Navigator. In essence, this group rates nonprofits on how responsibly they operate. They look at the day-to-day operations as well as the long-term foundation of the organizations to show viability over time.
One of the easiest ways to look at a non-profit is by reading their annual audit. Each year, qualifying 501(c)3 organizations are required to file their tax documentation publicly in order to maintain their status.
