TECHNOLOGY TIPS – CNBC’S PLANET OF THE APPS: A HAND-HELD REVOLUTION
I have to admit that I've seen a couple of the commercials for this event on TV already and it looks really interesting, especially if you are using any type of phone that supports apps - small applications that fit on our mobile phone like the iPhone, Blackberry or Droid.
Did you know that the original Apple iPhone featured just 11 apps? With customers quickly wanting more, Apple features more than 100,000 apps with developers submitting thousands of ideas each month. Even Heroes star, Greg Grunberg, has created a mobile app called Yowzaa!! that gives shoppers a new way to get discounts.
Other phones which use apps are going to be covered so never fear those of you who are not iPhone fans. You'll also hear about profitability of creating your own app and what it takes to do so.
