THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - GET INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT!

Sue MossNow that we're overstuffed with lots of good eats from Thanksgiving and Black Friday is just a faded memory, if you have any energy left, there's an abundance of Christmas events to choose from to get into the Holiday spirit.

Missed those bargains on Black Friday?  The Bucktown Bazaar is offering handmade gifts from over 60 DIY crafters and established artisans this weekend over at Holstein Park Fieldhouse (2200 N. Oakley Avenue) in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago.  Bring the kids for the origami ornament-making workshop while you browse the aisles for that special gift.  Click here to learn more.

Or, head on over to the open-air, German-style market at Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington Street) for the 14th annual Christkindlmarket Chicago.  More than 50 vendors will be on hand to offer handmade ornaments, accessories and much more.  Don't forget to stop by Santa's House for your very own photo with him, and be sure to tell him what you're wishing for this year!  Click here for more details.

The Hotel Allegro (171 W. Randolph Street) is hosting Santa Paws this year, which is a photo op with none other than Santa and your pet (dog, cat, bird or other furry friend - no rodents, however).  You'll also have to bring your own camera for this one.  Click here to learn more about this event.

Not starting your shopping yet, well, get in the spirit with one of these -

Holiday Flower Show at the Garfield Park Conservatory (300 N. Central Park Avenue).  Come see hundreds of poinsettias, along with Christmas trees and more.  Click here for more information.

‘Christmas Around the World' and ‘Holidays of Lights' is once again at the Museum of Science & Industry (5700 S. Lake Shore Drive).  Don't miss the more than 50 Christmas trees on display, which reflect ethnic traditions from around the world, as well as the 45-foot tree draped with over 10,000 lights in the rotunda of the museum.  Click here to get more details.

Zoolights, a yearly-tradition at Lincoln Park Zoo (2200 N. Cannon Drive), displays over two million lights throughout their grounds.  The colors are phenomenal!  Click here to find out what else is going on.

Wonderland Express is back again this year at the Chicago Botanic Garden (1000 Lake Cook Road) in Glencoe.  Added this year to the 10,000 square foot exhibit is Michelle Obama's childhood home as well as the Obama's home in Hyde Park.  This is truly a great exhibit and shouldn't be missed!  Click here for more.

I can definitely feel the "Holiday Spirit" in the air!  Can You?
