LIL' BUDDY'S BLOG: Often Times, We "Little Guys" Don't Even Stand A Chance!

THE CHICAGO IL REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!

Buddy at Rest - Fourth of July, 2007Summer's still here, and the time is still right, you dogs!  For hanging out!   Perhaps, for drooling!

We "Little Guys."  Those of us with fur, and those without!  Why is it, sometimes, nobody pays attention to us? Nobody listens to our complaints?

Except when you call on the Big Guns!

Big Guns like John Yates, the "What's Your Problem" Reporter in the Consumer Watch Section of The Chicago Tribune.

Yesterday, John chronicled the problems of neighbors in the Oak Court Condominium in the Chicago Suburb of Evanston.

Apparently, in this complex, one resident ordered Cable TV Service from Cable Behemoth Comcast.  After finding out that the service she wanted, with all the channels - including my fave, Animal Planet, by the way - would set her back well over $100 each month, rather than the $30 or so she was led to believe she would pay - she canceled her installation.

Indignant installers ripped the wires from her condo unit.  But they also left the outside cable connections, to a junction box on the roof, merely dangling in the breeze in front of the building - very unsightly, complained other residents.  Even the building's four-pawed, canine residents started to howl in disgust!

Several residents complained - some barking more loudly than others.  Their cries to clean up the flapping cables - unheeded.

Until the building residents complained to the Yates, the Consumer Watch Reporter with The Trib.

Supposedly, good ole' Comcast is coming out this Friday to clean up the loose cables, and clean up the problem.

Indeed, the loudest bird, with the gumption to complain to a loud mouth piece like the Chicago Tribune, will end up getting results!

But, you dogs, why should this be?  Why do we often have to bark, bark, and bark again - often yelping loudly - in order to get some of the most common-sense customer service?

I guess the bigger you are as a corporation, the less you have to worry about us individual customers, you think?

Ask big companies like Sears Roebuck, General Motors, and several others.  Eventually, they found out they were wrong!

Got a consumer bleat, you dogs?  Give me a call!  I'll sick my baby sister, Lil' Gracie Ella Moss, on them.  That should keep them in line - or, perhaps, give them enough of a headache to force them to comply!

Enjoy the weekend!  Pop into our Mezzanine-Level Office on Montrose Avenue anytime!
