TECHNOLOGY TIPS - CAN YOU TRANSLATE THIS TEXT MESSAGE: NALOPKT

Cathy Mallers PhotoI'll tell you what it means in a minute.  First, I wanted to tell you about this great website that will help you if you are little behind the curve.

I'm talking about NetLingo.  It's a website that provides definitions of Internet terms and texting abbreviations.  For those of you using text messaging (texting) or Twitter, this is an extremely helpful tool that will help you stay within the 140 character limit.  Not to be left out of this list you can also look at UrbanDictionary.com.

The further reaching impact of knowing terms for texting and Twitter lie with parents and companies.  For parents, this is a great way to decipher what your kids are texting, and if necessary police them.  For companies, the more technologically savvy you are the more your clients will appreciate your depth of knowledge.  One of the better examples of Twitter usage is companies like Comcast using Twitter for customer service issues.

Don't worry, this blog is SFW (Safe For Work).

Translation: NALOPKT (Not A Lot Of People Know That)
