Start your Friday with one of the following neighborhood festivals -

Edison Park Fest 2009 - Edison Park Metra Station (6730 N. Olmsted Avenue)

This free event not only features the usual neighborhood fest activities including live music, but also a parade on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and a dog show on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  Click here for dates, times and music lineup.

North Side Summerfest - Lincoln and Belle Plaine Avenues (4050 N. Lincoln Avenue)

This North Center neighborhood fest is hosting its third annual food and drink vendors, live music, and arts & crafts as well.  A $5 donation gets you in.  Click here for dates, time and music lineup.

Windy City Ribs Festival - Union Park (1501 W. Randolph Street)

Green Music Fest - Eckhart Park (1330 W. Chicago Avenue)

Chicago Air & Water Show - North Avenue Beach (1600 N. Lake Shore Drive)

This is a free, must attend event in the Lincoln Park neighborhood!  In its 51^st year, this year's show has combined the air and water portions into one continuous show.  Click here for more information.

Oak Street Beachstro - Oak Street Beach (1001 N. Lake Shore Drive)

Chicago Turkish World Festival - Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue)

This Streeterville neighborhood fest is held in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier and is free!  Click here for dates and times.

A Night on the Prowl - Cans Bar and Canteen (1640 N. Damen Avenue)

Moving on to movie time -

Terror in the Aisles 2 - Portage Theater (4050 N. Milwaukee Avenue)

Don't know what to do with yourself this Saturday between 7:00 p.m. & 2:00 a.m.?  It's a fright flick marathon in this Portage Park neighborhood.  Costumes are encouraged.  Click here for screening and appearance highlights as well as price.
