HOW TO SET UP A HOME NETWORK
Recently I had to update to a new computer because of the need for bandwidth and larger hard drive capacity. As you may or may not know, re-creating your old environment by transferring files, re-installing software and the like can be a long, if not tedious task.
I did some major digging this weekend because I still use both computers and switching from keyboard to keyboard is quite cumbersome.
Originally, I was using a program called GoToMyPC which is a way to log into your computer from a remote access point. Others will use LogMeIn, but I prefer GoToMyPC for its ability to a second layer of security.
Getting back on track, I found a great set of instructions for setting up a home network for your PC's as well as one printer. This particular set of instructions is for the Window XP platform, but looks like it can be altered to the Windows Vista program. Click here to get started.
