TECHNOLOGY TIPS - DTV GOES LIVE IN CHICAGO AND METRA GOES ONLINE
This past week was a technology festival and we at Dean's Team just could not decide what was more important so we had to share both.
DTV has gone live. For those of you who missed the "Big Switch," antenna televisions no longer work without the converter box for digital television. You can still get a coupon for the converter box so you will be able to view your favorite shows. The coupons expire on July 31, no exceptions so be sure to get your converter as soon as possible.
In addition to the change, some of your cable channels may have changed. You can search the government site for the local channels that should be available in your area (mine has 26). To read all about the changes and if you have any questions, click here.
Metra is on track this year to be electronically competitive with CTA. For the past several years, Metra riders have waited in long lines at the beginning of the month to purchase their passes. Now in Metra stations passengers can purchase tickets via credit cards. Coming in September on-line purchasing of 10-ride and monthly passes will be available.
