THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - IT’S GREAT TO BE OUTDOORS AGAIN!
Sure, it's
great to be outdoors again, but will the weather cooperate this weekend. Even if it doesn't, I wouldn't let it stop me
nor should you for that matter. After
all, we do live in Chicago,
and as the saying goes, "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute."
So, don the
appropriate outfit and hit the great outdoors for some fresh air and fun. Here's what's going on -
The Raven: Experience the Magic of Ravenswood
To be held
at Chase Park (4701 N. Ashland
Avenue) from Friday through Sunday. $5 donation is being requested. It's the second year for this annual festival
in the Ravenswood neighborhood. So click here

Chicago Tribune Printers Row Lit Fest
To be held
on Dearborn Street
between Congress Parkway
and Polk Street
this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is the 25th anniversary for
the largest free literary event in the Midwest. Events also take place at the Harold
Washington Library Center, however, advance registration is

25th Annual Chicago Gospel Music
Festival
The City's
official 2009 festival kicks off the season with top gospel acts in a packed
two-day line-up this Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph Street). Click

Metronome Celebration
To be held
in the Logan Square
neighborhood at 2000 N. Milwaukee
Avenue this Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m. This street fest has five
stages for live electro, folk, punk and rock music, and much more. Click here

Chicago Neighborhood Tours
The Chicago
Cultural Center (77 E.
Randolph Street) will be offering two neighborhood
tours this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. They
are - Pilsen and Little Village, where yours truly spent her
childhood before moving further west in 1971, and Devon Avenue. Reservations are recommended, tours range
from three to five hours, may include snacks or lunch and range in price from
$20-$50. Click here

Chicago Botanic Garden Wine Festival 2009
This
two-day festival not only features wineries, distributors and importers but
also a seminar/music stage as well as local restaurants offering food for
sale. This event takes place Saturday
from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Click here

Kane County Flea Market
This flea
market is held at the Kane County Fairgrounds (525 S. Randall Road) on the first
Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the first Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. of each month through December 6th. Entrance fee is $5. Get out there ladies, you're sure to find a
deal at one or more of the approximately 1,000 dealers displaying their
