TECHNOLOGY TIPS - MOVE OVER GOOGLE I'VE GOT PEOPLE (ER, PIPL)

Cathy Mallers PhotoSo on this great holiday where we honor the men and women who protect and keep our country safe, I found myself trying to locate some old friends.  I guess nationalism brings out the sentimentality in me.

Anyway, I went to my trusty advisor, TechCrunch, to see if there were any type of search engines where I could specifically find a way to search for people that would get more detailed than just a quick Google search.

Of course, my advisor came through with a new search engine that I found extremely powerful and quite compelling.

The name of the search engine is called Pipl.  The unique part to this search engine is that it goes into the DeepWeb where it will find more in-depth information including property records, SEC filings, and birth databases.

I did a quick search on my own name and was impressed to find a lot of information about myself that I thought was private.  The good thing is that you cannot download this information without purchasing it.

So if you are looking for property records and information, here is yet another location you can turn to besides the Cook County Assessor's office.

Happy Memorial Day!
