Rogers Park mourns the loss of noted labor historian and surrealist poet, Franklin Rosemont today.

Rosemont, known for his amazing researched history specifically in the topics of labor history and surrealism, started the Chicago Surrealist Group with his wife in 1968 at the Solidarity Bookshop on Armitage.

Some of his work included "Joe Hill, the IWW & the Making of a Revolutionary Workingclass Counterculture" and "Jacques Vache and the Roots of Surrealism."  Having been published by Charles H. Kerr Publishing Co., he later served as editor-in-chief.

LINCOLN PARK

Apple is coming! Apple is coming!

Apple has decided to open an additional space in the Clybourn Corridor at the corner of North, Halsted and Clybourn.  The store would be located at the Red Line stop of North and Clybourn, replacing a gas station currently located on the spot.

The plans are for the new location to be 15,000 square feet and will be designed by the same firm who designed the Michigan Avenue store.  To read more, click here.

LOOP

It's Spa Week in Chicago and now is the time to get fluffed and buffed for the coming warmer days.

Since today is Tax Day and it's really a time for relaxing after going through mounds of receipts, Spa Week could not have come at a better time.

Loop location, Spa Space, is offering discounts on its mango-enzyme pedicure and signature manicure as well as brow shaping and waxing.
