Sue Moss

Spring is here which means Easter is just around the corner!

For those who will be hosting an Easter dinner next Sunday, and will not be able to participate in any Easter events around town next weekend, the Chicago Park District will be providing several Easter Egg Hunts with the Easter Bunny this Saturday, April 4th, at various park locations throughout the City.  Most events will feature arts & crafts, face painting and of course, bring your camera, for your very own photo with the Easter Bunny!

Bunny Bonanza at Pottawattomie Park -- 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Cost is $7 per person, pre-registration is required and children must be accompanied by an adult.  Click here for more on activities and location.

Easter Egg Hunt at Sheridan Park - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  This event is free and for ages 3 to 12.  Click here for more on activities and location.

And, the "Grand Daddy" of them all, the -

6th Annual Spring Egg - Stravaganza at Soldier Field - doors open at 9:00 a.m. with the largest candy grab beginning at 10:00 a.m.  This event is free and open to adults and children 10 and under - rain or shine!  Click here for details on other activities as well as pricing and times for the Easter Brunch in the United Club.

Let's not forget our four-legged family members either, they like bunnies too -

The 6th Annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt at Horner Park - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  This event is very family friendly, however, dogs must be leashed and with their owners at all times!  The cost is $5 per dog.  Click here for more details.

Also in town this Saturday is the Jelly Belly Trunk Show at Candyality in the Lakeview neighborhood.  Come and meet Mr. Jelly Belly and sample over 50 kinds of jelly beans.  And, don't forget to purchase some beans for those Easter baskets or even your candy dish!  Click here for more details and location.

If you need to work off some of those calories you consumed on Saturday, you're in luck.  The 13th Annual Champagne Ride takes places Sunday, April 5th, at 8:30 a.m. at the Waveland Clock Tower in the Lakeview East neighborhood.  Click here for all the details if you feel adventuresome - it's 30-miles roundtrip, by the way!

Well, I got to go and dig out my Bunny costume!  Hopefully, I'll see you on Saturday - if you know which Bunny I am!!
