LIL' BUDDY'S BLOG - Desperate for Money? Which of Your Personal Things Would You NEVER Sell - No Matter What!

THE CHICAGO IL REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!

Buddy at Rest - Fourth of July, 2007Am I wiped today, you dogs!   Gracie and I, we both got GROOMED!  Sure tires a dog out, yes?

But we both smell like Vanilla Musk, and are each wearing cute lil' kerchiefs!

Here in Chicago, the Real Estate Market has been tough over the last few months.  Coming back a bit now - but December, then January - it seems like I never left my pen to do a showing around here!

So it got us all to thinking - if times were to get bad - so bad that you begin to consider selling some of your personal items just to scrape up some money just to make ends meet, what would you SELL OFF?   And, more importantly, what would you NEVER SELL - no matter what!

Our Team Mommy Sue has joked about selling off some of the jewelery some of her old boyfriends gave her.  But she would never give up the things Daddy Dean gave her.  You know, those shiny things - she knows the meaning and time given for each item.  Ahhhh, women . . . MUSHY!

Dean - he would likely never give up his new TV, or his Palm Treo.  Or, most anything that comes with a power cord or a battery charger.

Me - I would give up Gracie!  Naah, just kidding - she's kind of cute, and smells really nice, on days she's not rolling outside in the yard, you know!

Chicago Tribune Reporter Mary Schmich, in her column from yesterday's Chicago Tribune, remembers a time when she was younger and her family fell on hard times.  Her parents would sell off their bedroom furniture, or a TV, or china and silver, to make ends meet.  But they would never consider selling her childhood piano.

One gentleman Mary interviewed said he would sell one of his two cars, but never his golf clubs - although he would consider playing public courses with greater frequency.

Another man considered selling his wedding ring - but quickly recanted when he found his wife not amused!  One woman queried said she would part with her CD's - but never her shoes!

Of course, some things can never be parted with.  Things with sentimental value.  For me, that would be the piece of rope I chewed on daily when I was but a pup.  And my Daddy Dean's old New Balance Left Running Shoe, since replaced with new, glistening white NB's - soon to be grey with coming Chicago Rainy Weather!

So, you dogs - if times got tough - what would you part with, and what can't you live without?

Inquiring dog minds need to know!
