THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - GREAT THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOUR SUPERBOWL PARTY

See the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats at at Centre East 9501 Skokie Blvd. Skokie, IL 60077

The Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats are returning to Centre East.  As they have done before, they will amaze crowds with the debut of Cirque D'Or. 

This is a new show of breathtaking skill and breathtaking  beauty.  Be entertained with juggling of everything from umbrellas to soccer balls, and with props such as ladders and giant spinning wheels.  The performers are world-famous, and will please the senses.

SoxFest 2009, presented by U.S. Cellular, takes place at the Palmer House Hilton, January 30 - February 1, 2009.

SoxFest Hours of operation are as follows:

Friday: 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Current players, coaches and staff are all scheduled to attend.  Ken Williams, Ozzie Guillen, Brian Anderson, Harold Baines, Jeff Cox, John Danks, Jermaine Dye, Chris Getz, Paul Konerko, Scott Linebrink, Juan Nieves, Jerry Owens, Carlos Quentin, Clayton Richard, Adam Russell, Jim Thome, Mark Salas, Ehren Wassermann, Greg Walker and Dewayne Wise. Announcers Ken Hawk Harrelson, Steve Stone and Ed Farmer are all expected to be in attendance.

Legendary White Sox executives and players will also attend and include: Roland Hemond, Kevin Hickey, Ron Kittle, Bill Melton, Minnie Minoso and Moose Skowron. 

This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the American League champion Go-Go Sox team.  Commemorating the occasion, former White Sox players Jim McAnany, Jim Landis, Billy Pierce, Jim Rivera and Bob Shaw are scheduled to attend SoxFest.

The 14th Annual Strictly Sail Chicago Boat Show is at Navy Pier.

This is the Midwest's only and the nation's largest indoor all-sail boat show.  Strictly Sail Chicago has become a must do event for all and is Chicago's favorite boat show.  Strictly Sail sails into Navy Pier January 29-February 1, 2009 with more boats, gear, seminars and fun than ever before.  The 2009 show has promise to be unlike any other show in the nation.
