LIL' BUDDY'S BLOG - The Dog Who Came in from the Cold!
THE CHICAGO IL REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!
Wasn't sure if you saw this Christmas Photo of me and my Human Mom, Sue Moss. I'm the one in the red hat!
Woooof . . . it's COLD outside! Colder than it's been as long as I've been around. Colder than it's been in and around Chicago in 13 years! And WINDY, too!
Right now, according to the Chicago Tribune Weather Page, it's 12 BELOW ZERO at O'Hare Airport - the official Chicago Reporting Station. Wind from the WSW at 13 MPH. Windchill - minus 29! Around 8:00PM tonight, it was minus 17 in the Western Chicago Suburb of Aurora IL, with a wind chill of MINUS 40!
Dogs out for more than a minute or so could have the skin on the bottom of their paws freeze. That's sure to cause "Frosty Paws Syndrome" - far more serious than frostbite in humans!
When it's this cold, human males with mustaches quickly look like walruses outside! My lil' sister, Gracie, looks like a discarded Christmas tree - with fur!
Tonight, temps are predicted to fall as low as 18 below away from Lake Michigan and Downtown Chicago. A slight bit warmer tomorrow, but only a slight bit - highs predicted between zero and 4 above, with windchills as cold as 35 below!
The Chicago Tribune quotes National Weather Service Meteorologist Nathan Marsil, "We probably won't see temperatures go above zero until Friday afternoon, but not much above zero. And right now, we're expecting more snow Friday night into Saturday - not a great combination."
But now there is something to be optimistic about, says WGN-TV Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling, as today, January 15th, is the exact midpoint of Meteorological Winter.
And we don't even know yet what the Groundhog will see when he comes out of his burrow next month!
Stay Warm, you dogs! Try a Hot Toddie - might work!
And - no snow angels outside in the backyard tonight - it's too woofen cold!
