SNOWY CHICAGO WINTER CONTINUES - More Snow, Extreme Cold Coming This Week!

STORM DUMPS 10" OF SNOW ON CHICAGO O'HARE AIRPORT SATURDAY.  ANOTHER  2-4 INCHES DUE BY TUESDAY!

As Sue and I spent the weekend with a few hundred of our friends and colleagues this past weekend at the annual Floyd Wickman Master Sales Academy in nearby Rosemont IL this weekend, it was snowing outside.   Nearly a foot worth of "snowing outside"!

Real Estate Practitioners visiting Chicago from such exotic ports of call as South Texas, and North Carolina, and California, and Florida . . . they thought the scene looked like a Winter Wonderland.  A Picture Postcard!

Fortunately for them, they did not have to drive in it!

Commuting times on Friday, as snow started falling, nearly quadrupled for us, and for others across the Chicago Area.  Our residential street of North Mason Avenue, in the South Edgebrook Neighborhood of Chicago, was like driving on an obstacle course - snow banks, snow piles, and snow ruts, all strategically placed in the middle of the road.  Our service alley behind our home, which leads to our detached garage and back yard - forget about it!

All part of living in Chicago, I imagine, in what historically is the coldest month of the year!

According to Mary Owen in today's Chicago Tribune, the City of Chicago and Surrounding Suburbs will catch another couple to four inches by Tuesday, then an Arctic Deep Freeze moves in by late Tuesday.  Daytime high temperatures will only hit zero to five degrees, nighttime lows:  south of ten below, with minus 30 or lower wind chills!   Brrrrrrr!

Wait a minute!  Is this Saskatchewan?

Flights out of Chicago O'Hare Airport on Saturday experienced delays up to 90 minutes or more, and more than 100 flight cancellations were logged.  Chicago Midway Airport, on the Southwest Side of Chicago, experienced delays and cancellations, but they were shorter and fewer there.

Buckle up, Chicago Residents and Lucky Visitors!  Winter is still with us, and it likely won't be going away for a while!
