THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - LABOR DAY FUN

This weekend promises
to bring plenty of sunshine for the traditional Labor Day BBQ's and
parades.
If you like to add a
day of entertainment then why not check out the Jazz Festival this weekend at Grant Park, located at 300 S. Columbus
Drive, in downtown Chicago.
It is the city's
longest-running lakefront music festival and features local, national and
international performers, appealing to music lovers from around the world. The
Jazz Festival features four days of the very best traditional and contemporary
jazz on multiple stages. In addition to
the music, enjoy an art fair showcasing original works and the food offered by
several local restaurant vendors. Jazz
greats such as Miles Davis, and Dave Brubeck, have performed on the main stage.

If you'd like a Taste of Polonia, join the crowds at the
Copernicus Foundation Center in Jefferson Park, at
5216 W. Lawrence Ave., in Chicago.
Fill yourselves up on
dishes such as pierogi, Polish sausage, sauerkraut, kabobs, and also pizza, and
hot dogs. There will be plenty of beer
at this annual cultural celebration of Polish traditions as well. For your enjoyment there will be Polish and
American bands that will play everything from rock to blues to polka music on
three main stages. Other features include costumed folk dancers, activities for
the kids, arts and crafts, and more. A mass is also on the agenda.
Billed "the largest
ethnic fest in Chicago," the outdoor festival takes place on Lawrence Avenue
between Milwaukee Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway. For additional information
