JEFF'S SPORTS BLOG - THE CHICAGO BEARS FACE THEIR TOUGHEST OPPONENT

Jeff Ardito - Dean's Team Listing Specialist!Tomorrow, our Bears welcome the Tennessee Titans to Chicago and this should prove to be a heckuva game.  The Titans come in with a perfect 8-0 record boasting a dominating defense and a very good running attack on offense.

Meanwhile, our Bears will be without QB, Kyle Orton who is nursing a high-ankle sprain, thus giving former starting QB, Rex Grossman his first start of the season.

Grossman was able to get action in the second half of the game against the Lions last Sunday and did well by leading the Bears to a come from behind victory.  Grossman threw a touchdown and also ran one in for the victory in an important divisional game.

The Titans have dominated the league with a stifling defense that to date has allowed a measly 103 points, which translates to an average of 12.9 points per game leading the NFL.  The Titan defense is also ranked 7th in the NFL in yards allowed, thus proving to be a tough task for the Bears offense led by Grossman.

Last week against the Lions, Grossman was only 8 of 18 for just 58 yards and did throw an interception too.  This is a concern since the Titans defense will provide more pressure and have demonstrated a strong ability for takeaways.

To date, the Titan defense has 13 interceptions and 9 fumbles to place them as one of the best teams in the NFL in turnovers/takeaways.  Bears fans know all too well that Grossman has had a propensity to turnover the ball.

The Bears defense has shown ability to control tough running attacks this year although they have given up quite a bit of yardage.  The Bears have given up 329.5 yards per game this season but have only allowed 81.8 rushing yards per game which ranks 6th in the NFL.

The Titans offense has averaged 149.1 rushing yards, which ranks third in the NFL also scoring 15 touchdowns on the ground.  So, the key match-up for this game will pit the Bears strong rushing defense against the Titans strong running game.

If our Bears can stop the run and avoid turnovers, they have a great chance of giving the Titans their first loss of the year.  Go Bears!
