WIN OR LOSE, OBAMA CAMPAIGN PLANS ELECTION NIGHT EVENT AT GRANT PARK, DOWNTOWN CHICAGO!

HISTORIC EVENT COULD DRAW OVER 100.000 TO CHICAGO LAKEFRONT PARK!

Are you a Democrat? A RepublicanLiberal Bleeding HeartVenomous Right-Wing Nut-Job

Whatever your political leaning, and despite your likely weariness with the 2008 Presidential Campaign, you have to agree this year's campaign is a historic one, set against a back drop of very difficult times.

Without making presumptions, but understanding a large, public gathering must be planned in advance, the Presidential Campaign of Democrat Barack Obama has confirmed they will have a major Election Event at Grant Park, just east of The Loop in Downtown Chicago.  The specific timing and agenda for the event has yet to be set.

Hundreds of thousands have gathered in the park before.  Pope John Paul II celebrated mass here in 1979 before a huge crowd.  The Chicago Bulls NBA Team celebrated their first National Championship here in 1991.  Music concerts, ranging from classical, to folk, to rock, have been staged here.

Located just south of the newer Millennium Park, Grant Park is also the home of the annual Taste of Chicago. and Lollapoluza Concerts, attracting over a million visitors each summer.  Historic Buckingham Fountain (remember the opening of the old TV Show, "Married, With Children"?) is on the East Side of the park, adjoining Lake Shore Drive and Lake Michigan.

The park also has a dark chapter, as the flash point for violent protests surrounding the Democratic Convention held in Chicago in 1968.

To be decided - whether the potential victory celebration or supporter thank-you event will be a ticketed affair, with possible reservations online.

In any event, security for this event will likely be very tight, and the potential for downtown gridlock extreme!

The event will likely take place near the South End of Grant Park, on Hutchinson Field - just north of the Field Museum.

Should Democrat Obama be elected to the White House, he would be the first President from Illinois since Abraham Lincoln (Former Illinois Governor and Libertyville IL resident Adlai Stevenson ran unsuccessfully in 1956).  Obama would be the first elected president who calls the City of Chicago home.

Will we see you there?
