JEFF'S SPORTS BLOG - HOW WILL OUR CHICAGO BEARS FAIR AGAINST THE VIKINGS?

Jeff Ardito - Dean's Team Listing Specialist! The Chicago Bears will battle Central Division rival, the Minnesota Vikings in a big game at Soldier Field tomorrow.

The Vikings bring an excellent running game with star running back, Adrian Peterson.  The Bears were torched by Peterson in the first game last year and will have to make it a point to stop him.  In addition to Peterson, the Vikings bring a vaunted defense to Chicago, which has been very strong against the run.

The Bears will have the advantage of playing at home and will need some big plays on both sides of the ball to come out victorious.  The key for the Bears will be how their offense plays against the Vikings defense.

If the Bears have difficulty running the football, the pressure will fall upon QB, Kyle Orton, to make plays via the passing game.  This is likely going to happen and will demonstrate Orton's ability to take control of a game.

The Bears defense will be focused on Peterson and hopefully can bring back the big play to their arsenal via turnovers.  The Bears defense has to be able to make big plays to give the offense more opportunities to score and dominate time of possession

If the Bears defense is stuck on the field for majority of the game they will tire in the fourth quarter and in a game that figures to be close until the end this could prove to be detrimental to the outcome.

Thus, the Bears offense has to control the football and eat up the game clock while not turning over the ball.  For the Bears defense, they have to stop the Vikings running game and make the big plays in creating turnovers.

Finally, the Bears coaching staff might have to make some adjustments during the game particularly during halftime.  Let's hope the coaching staff can give the Bears an advantage so that the Bears can win a key game and take control of the Central Division.

Chicago fans see the possibility of the Bears winning this division and thus making the playoffs.

Go BEARS!
