THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - HAPPY HAUNTINGS!
Sue Moss - General Manager, Manager of Unbeatable Service for Dean's Team CHICAGO!Well, Halloween is just two weeks away and Chicago, along with its surrounding neighborhoods, is gearing up this weekend for some "frightful" events that lead up to Halloween itself.  Now, I don't know about you, but I absolutely love Halloween with its costumes, children out trick or treating, carving pumpkins, decorating the house and most of all the scary tales of all the great Chicago hauntings!

If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself at Chicago Hauntings Ghost Tours, located at Clark and Ohio Streets.  Reservations are required and the cost ranges from $20-$30.  This bus tour will take you to several locations written about in the "Chicago Haunts" book series authored by Ursula Bielski.  Click here for dates, times and reservations.

Now, if you prefer attending frightful events which were created from someone's imagination, then perhaps you might want to try these out -

Haunted Sanitarium located at Theater on the Lake (2401 N. Lake Shore Drive).  The price ranges from $8-$10.  Since only small groups are allowed to wander through scary themed rooms at a time, there is a waiting area that provides concessions and creepy flicks.  Click here for more information.

"The Fear" Haunted House located at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Avenue).  The cost is $20, and any children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult since this tented, outdoor haunted house is geared toward adults and teens.  Through November 1st, stick around on Friday and Saturday nights for the fireworks display as well.  Click here for more details.

Or, here are some kid-friendly events -

"Chicagoween" located at the Daley Plaza in the Loop.  Check out scary movie nights, pumpkin decorating, spooky story tellers, and much more.  Visit "Monstro-city", a modern version of a traditional haunted house.  Click here for dates and times of scheduled events.

"Boo! at the Zoo" located at Brookfield Zoo (3300 Golf Road, Brookfield).  This event will be held on Saturday (October 18th & October 25th) and Sunday (October 19th & October 26th) beginning at 11:00 a.m.  A costume parade will be held each of those days at 1:00 p.m. at the North Gate.  There also will be a costume contest for children, as well as various other children activities such as making scarecrows.  Click here to get more information.

And most of all, let's not forget our "furry" little four-legged kids.  This Saturday between 2 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Margate Park in the Uptown neighborhood (4921 N. Marine Drive), Puptown, a volunteer-run organization, will be hosting Howl-o-ween Dog Costume Contest.  Admission is free, however, there will be a $5 donation required for dog costume entry which will benefit Puptown.  Click here for more.

By the way, if you still haven't decided on a costume yet, Bailiwick Arts Center, located at 1229 W. Belmont Avenue in the Lakeview neighborhood, who will be closing its doors later this fall after 15 years in Chicago, will be hosting this Saturday their Bailiwick's Halloween Costume and Clearance SaleClick here to learn more.

Enjoy your weekend and HAPPY HAUNTINGS!

Would love to hear back from you "non-believers" if you have indeed taken the Ghost Tour - BOO!!  Hope I didn't scare You --
