It is truly possible that Early Voting Programs, here in Chicago, across Illinois, and in several other states, can revolutionize the process of selecting public officials.
You never know, the non-voter's excuse, "It was raining too hard on Election Day," may soon be ancient history.
In Chicago there are 51 Early Voting Polling Locations in place, all using new, state of the art, computer voting systems that both record your vote electronically, and generate a hard, paper ballot as a voting record. Hopefully, no more "chads", or jammed machines, or under votes.
The system allows voters to immediately view their completed ballot twice - once electronically, and once on the actual paper tape. Corrections to mis-voting are fairly easy - you just make the correct entry on the computer. No spoiled ballots, minimal re-voting!
Early Polling Centers will be open seven days a week through October 30th, between 9AM and 5PM Monday through Saturday in Chicago Neighborhoods, and the same weekday schedule, plus 9AM to 12 Noon Sundays at the Office of the Chicago Board of Elections, 69 W. Washington Street, Downtown in The Loop.
Each of the Early Polling Centers is 100% ADA Accessible. Once you vote early, of course, you can't vote again on Election Day - not even here in Chicago.
Voting early? Bring an IL Photo ID showing a current address. Early voters can vote at any Chicago Early Voting Location, not only the Early Polling Center nearest your home.
